Dr. Thad Taylor founded DFW Oral and Facial Surgery in 1999. Dr. Taylor was born and raised and in Tulsa, Oklahoma where his father practiced dentistry for over 40 years. It was at an early age that Dr. Taylor realized his calling for oral surgery. He received his bachelor’s degree in 1990 from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. In 1994 he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Howard University in Washington D.C. and immediately entered into a one year post-doctoral program at Howard University Hospital.

In 1999 Dr. Taylor completed his Oral and Maxillofacial surgery training at King/Drew Medical center (currently UCLA/Harbor Medical Center) in Los Angeles, California. He relocated to north Texas in 1999 where he entered into private practice.

Dr. Taylor has served as a clinical professor at Texas A&M University College of Dentistry for over 17 years. He has maintained medical staff privileges at Methodist – Charlton Hospital of Dallas for over 15 years.

Dr. Taylor is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Southwest Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and American Dental Association. He is a member of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and board certified by the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Taylor specializes in the reconstruction of the oral cavity via dental implant placement, treatment of oral pathology, dental extractions and the treatment of facial trauma.

Dr. Taylor is a distinguished member of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity and Sigma Pi Phi fraternity and regularly mentors young men and women seeking careers in medicine and dentistry.
